Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis had a goal and an assist in the 4-3 loss to the Rangeres. Jarvy spoke about what he liked from that game and how the penalty kill can be better
Just penalty kills gotta be better. Me and Jordan gotta be better just as a unit. You know, we've, we've been good all year and for that to happen in a time like that's not, not good. I think uh I gotta be better, baling, baling pucks out and stuff like that. But, uh I mean, I'm really proud of how we bounced back. We did a good job, kind of reeling the back end and recovering from that. But to start, give a team like that a 31 move. So it's not easy you guys, you know, talk about the little things so often is that really kind of just sort of comes down in a sense like that is winning those little battles, the little things, not so much changing anything. Yeah, it's all about those. You hear it all the time, the 5050 the face off, all the boring stuff, but that's what makes a difference. That's what wins games and that's what we need to improve on and that's what uh we'll focus on coming to this next game. Give you good confidence, obviously, um, the way you were able to build your games you just talked about them, honestly. I like your 505 there, you know, getting a third period. Yeah, we, we did a good job. I think that kind of 2nd, 2nd, definitely the third period. We're, we're really good. We, we found our game, we were able to sustain pressure and make plays and we had chances to score, we had chances to capitalize. We just, uh, it came up a little short, the glo he played really well. But um yeah, just hoping the next game carry that, carry that part of our game into it and just clean up a few other things yesterday. The guy said, team ST down from you his name as a finalist for the Celtic Trophy. What makes that component of his game so good. He just like smothers people. It's pretty cool. I mean, he's a massive body but he's as he's gotten as he's aged, he's, uh he's still being able to defend the top lines, top players and, and be really effective that way. And it's really cool to see. I think in practice, you go against him. It's tough and you can only imagine what it's like in a game. So uh to be able to play with him has been special and it's about time he's getting that recognition. What does that do for you as a player? You know, being so young in your career to be around guys like Jordan and of course, burns as well. But I like that. It's awesome for me, I think because they have all the experience in the world. So to be able to learn from guys like that is, uh is crucial for my, uh for my career seems to be a real built up animosity between these two teams over the last few years. Do you enjoy that? Does that make the game more fun when the guys are really getting nasty out there? It feels like it's just, that's like what you imagine playoff hockey is when you're a kid is those battles and that, like you say, animosity. So, yeah, it does make it fun. It uh brings another element of the game you have to focus on and be aware of and it's, uh it's all good. You get a kick out of the way they chanted it. Do you guys hear that? Do you ride for that on the bench? Yeah, I definitely heard those. I had a chance about Tony and other stuff like that. But, uh, I mean, that's all part of it and that's, that's when you get going into an away arena.
