Softball Rankings: West Wilkes ranked No. 1 in statewide poll following perfect regular season

The final set of statewide softball rankings until postseason play concludes features another new No. 1 team.

West Wilkes capped off an unbeaten regular season to slide up into the top spot. The Blackhawks started the season ranked No. 7, and have climbed ever since.

Alexander Central's big win on Friday to hand South Caldwell its first loss knocked the previously top-ranked Spartans to No. 5, and vaulted the Cougars back into the Top-10 for the sixth time in eleven weeks.

D.H. Conley, West Forsyth, and West Henderson finished off its regular seasons red-hot, and vaulted into the Top-25 for this week. South Columbus, South Lenoir, and West Stanly join this week's edition of the Top-15 area code rankings.
