WIth Pat Fitzgerald out at Northwestern, many in the Triangle are asking WRALSportsFan's Lauren Brownlow if it's possible for the second-year head coach to split Durham and go to the Wildcats for big money.
Well, Duke football coach, Mike Elko has been excellent during his time as the leader of the Blue Devils. Of course, he is the reigning AC C coach of the year. Lauren Brownlow with WRL sports fan dot com. Examines what Duke could do to keep Elko in this week's Brownlow mail bag. We answer a question from Will Faircloth at WHF bomb 22 on Twitter will do pony up at some point to ensure longevity other than big 10 money. Well, see like that, other than big 10 money, that's kind of a big, well, other than, you know, that's kind of a big like exception there to, oh, let's just ignore all of that big 10 money because it matters and it's gonna matter. I mean, if you're in almost any right, whether you're a coach or whatever you want to kind of reach your maximum earning potential. And yes, career, happiness matters. Job happiness matters, right. We all understand that, but I think that Duke will do what it needs to do and what it can do financially. Right? Because it's, it's kind of a weird game that colleges are playing, right. Especially the colleges that aren't in the big 10 or in sec and don't have that kind of influx of TV, money coming their way extra TV, money. They know the disparity is gonna continue to widen schools will spend what they can, right? Spend what they can within their means. But is Duke gonna put its own athletic department like into poverty to, to pay my, I don't think Duke's gonna pony up some exorbitant amount of money. I think they would hope that they can go back out on the market. Get another hire of kind of an up and coming coordinator. They made a great hire the first time around. No reason to think they won't make another hire. That's just as good again. I think that they will pay Mike Elko. What's fair?
