Great game. Talent on both teams. Congrats to Hickory.

71st you rep the East well. Motivation for next year with a lot of returning players.

Awesome game. Congrats to Hickory. QB is very good, can throw the ball. #2 is great receiver. Running back is a load to deal with. There were some questionable calls that went there way.
71st offense was unstoppable as well. QB is as good as advertised. Backup did well when QB1 went out. #9 clearly was the best player on the field. If 2 players, any 2 players try to tackle him, he will gain 5 yards or more. He plays both ways the entire game. #50 is a freshman. Everyone coming back and JV hasn't lost in 5 years. If you are not familiar with the 71st, you will see them the next few years.
    Great game........Congrats to Hickory

Congrats to Hickory, You Guys are Really Good. 71st, we are Absolutely Proud of You Guys, with the JV having back to back undefeated "seasons", and most of the team returning next year, scary to see how good next year will be. Go FALCONS

Absolutely both teams left it all out on the field. Hats off to Hickory, they played a great game. 71st played a great game as well. Penalties were a factor, killed our momentum on a few drives. Looking forward to next year!! Go Falcons!!

Absolutely a great game by both teams. Sad that either team had to lose, but the good news for 71st is that they have some great players returning next year and could possibly be right back in the title game again.

Very impressed with Hickory...great QB & RB.

First time watching 71st. Really good ball club. Hickory was able to throw the ball when they wanted and often. The hickory running back was like Jerome Bettis.

I was surprised how small the hickory o line was. Their center looked to be maybe 185lbs? Regardless, great game by both teams!

This will be the toughest matchup this year. They both do a lot alike. Both with great quarterbacks. 71st has running game by committee with several over 1k yards. Hickory has a big back also. Game probably will be won in the trenches. It will be a great game however I expect the Dirty Birds to bring home the championship.ionship

Hickory will present Seventy-First's toughest game of this season. But with the poise and discipline taught by McLaurin and his coaching crew, expect Seventy-First to prevail and capture its fourth state championship title by eliminating little mistakes and counting on a stellar defensive performance to compliment Nance's star power.

    Thoughts???

I’ll definitely be at the game Friday night!!! Hoping for a good game.

    My pick 71st!!!!

71st has been great all year. The run game is phenomenal and the passing game has been great when needed! I know we are going to have to pass more than normal to win this Championship but we will still run the ball hard. The defense has been playing great as well and counting on some big stops. Going to be a good one. I haven’t paid much attention to the West but I know Hickory has turned their program around significantly from last year so I know they are ready to play some good football. Competition is always stiff on the west side of the state.
