Just saw that as well, Max! Doesn't make sense that it was taken down, but glad it's back up in time for kickoff - see you there!

Contracts were made to be broken, so hopefully they'll adopt a better model. Your idea looks good. Getting close to kickoff, Max!

aquote=16842900]Post by StunGunn[/quote]an 8 team playoff-5 conference champs plus 3 at large-with one guaranteed from a non power 5-it can be done easily and quickly-its a win-win for all-just override all the contracts, conf wins, networks win, the team wins and most of all the fans win.

I like both Reynolds and the PNC, but you can't beat Reynolds for atmosphere - and tradition!
I wish they would go to an eight team playoff system - the four team model just doesn't do it. There will always be a team left out that feels it got hosed, but I think an eight team model would be more balanced.

there is alway hesitation now a days-Just like they know it will be an eight team playoff eventually--go ahead and do it-oh it can't be done, there is a contract until 20-- whatever date-contracts are broken or negotiated all the time-the ACC could change the division structure where long time rivals (Duke and State could continue like they should) Swofford is stubborn -maybe it for a change-progress is great but somethings should not change when it is possible.

the old stadium was like going to your grandma's house, the new one is like going to the house after your parent's got their dream house, both have their pluses, kind of like everything now a days, got to be the biggest and best, comfort has lost its appeal -we must project an image!!
perfect example the old Reynolds vs PNC -will take Reynolds everytime

I was wondering if having such a well known brand like the Bulls would hurt or help a MLB team should the Triangle ever get one. I've been to both the original and the current Bulls' stadium. The old one had a special feel to it that the new one doesn't have, although I do like the new Bulls stadium.

there is something magical about baseball in Durham- I think it would be successful at any level, it was successful as a 1-A team and has been very successful as a triple A, Durham Bulls is a brand name known nationally -Fayetteville on the other hand has been toxic for baseball but the right owners, right location and handled right could make it big-always trying to put it at out of the way locations--big mistake

Was thinking the same about MLB in the area. Charlotte "has a lot", as their tag line goes, but maybe a pro team would rather give the Triangle a chance?

    YES! Closer to kickoff!!!

yea I think Charlotte is in the running-seems like Raleigh goes all in on these things, why doesn't Durham-Raleigh try to get MLB franchise, the Durham community would embrace it big time and I think it would succeed!! little over 5 weeks to football, can't wait!

Max - doesn't the MLS have to pick the Triangle before they do anything? Soccer is one sport I wouldn't walk across the street to see. Would much rather see us get something else than a soccer team.

the triangle area spending all that money for a Soccer complex, no money of the state government should be involved, the only ones interested in soccer are in the triangle--wasted money

Exactly,Max. Speculation about the final straw being grumblings from Greg Olsen and Thomas Davis, both highly thought of men by both fans and players. The assistant GM left for Buffalo, the President of the Panthers quit. Who knows what's going on behind closed doors. I didn't like some of Gettleman's decisions, but they did make the playoffs in three out of the four years he was the GM, one being the SB (which they totally blew a golden opportunity).

Wonder if there will ever be a Panthers Forum here again.

who knows what is going on with the panthers, maybe its time for an overhaul of the complete staff-kind of strange timing less than 2 months before season starts, why not before the draft

Strange timing for Richardson to fire Gettleman. Have to wonder if the grumblings coming from Greg Olsen and Thomas Davis have anything to do with it. Gettleman may have gotten the Panthers under the cap, but it may be time for Mr. Cheap to hit the road. Cap space doesn't help when you're 6 - 10 for the season.
