4 of the 1st team all-acc were no-brainers
I notice 3 voters put Cat and Grayson on 2nd
the 5th was up for grabs among 3 0r 4 players
do not why some must do things like that - sports
media types do hold grudges -

Yeah, but they think they know everything. I was listening to 99.9 driving to work today and the topic was NC State this year. My opinion they weren't good enough and not enough talent period. No Lacy or Henderson really hurt.

correct not enough players and short on talent
the Martin are good ball players but should be better next year, Rowan is a streaky shooter hopefully will have better pct next year, midway thru teams were putting clamps on Barber and were saying your other 4 will have to beat us. Another offensive threat like Henderson would have improved them considerably maybe even 4-6 wins-hopefully even if Cat goes-with the influx of Smith, Henderson and Dorn and improved play from the rest will move them up
just my 2 cents -

I think ACC should have in the future with 15 team the no. 1 get a bye and the rest play 4 days-
a little unfair for 4 teams to have win 5 games in 5 days- 3 is tough 4 tougher 5 almost impossible- that is 4 big upsets in 4 days -

I have a hypothetical idea- would like imput
The ACC should go ahead expand-example Conn.Huskies
North division and South Divisions
Va. Tech, Virginia all teams north in North Division
all teams in NC and below in the south-that all natural rivalries are intact
when tournament rolls around North division have an 8 team tour. in DC or NY
South have 8 team tournament in Charlotte the final 2 from each division meet in Greensboro for a final 4 play sat-sun or fri-sat- first 2 rounds in NY - Char. on Tues. Wed day of rest thur - Maybe that's crazy but I think something better could be worked out!- probably would have better turn outs-I just rambling would LOVE TO HAVE BEEN IN GREENSBORO TODAY -

— Posted by Maxwell Silver IIIMax, this was not only the best game of the Tourney so far (I know, only the third game, but still...), but it was one of the best games I've watched ALL YEAR. State played Duke better today than either of their previous games, although I realize both those games were very competitive and State gave Duke all they could handle. I hope State gets a bid to the NIT. To play Duke like they did today, deserves to be rewarded. Hope the committee does!

— Posted by Maxwell Silver IIII like the idea of adding one last team, but I think the Tourney needs to be played by both divisions in the same place. Like the idea of having two divisions in b ball because maybe we could return to the round robin. Really miss that. I liked the nine-team conference - lots of history and more even play with the home and home. I accepted the expansion because it was better than being poached by other conferences. But here we are at 15 teams - add another, and UCONN would be a good one. I favored adding ECU, but realized it would never happen because it wouldn't expand the almighty TV footprint.
I like your North/South idea because it would further preserve the original ACC, which at its roots, is a southern conference. I'm sentimental, what can I say? -

— Posted by StunGunnPIck the best spot for all teams concerned, if its in Atlanta, it will hard on Pitt, Louisville, BC,ND and Syracuse, DC makes it tough for teams from GT on down
Greensboro is about as central as you can get-ND,Virginia and MIami all won there. I really believe having the tournament in NY is a novelty and people will find how expensive it will having it there. Just my 2 cents -

In football if you have 8 team divisions (put the squeez on Notre Dame be full or we find someone else) I think the advantages they have from other sports is beneficial to them now its time for them to give something back. The revenue can be worked out, let them have rights to their non-conf. games and 1 conf games.

— Posted by Maxwell Silver IIIWas never a fan of ND calling the shots with joining the ACC. Either they're in or they're out, not the half-way deal they have going on. They do schedule a lot of ACC games, but it seems to me they're having their cake and eating it too.

— Posted by Maxwell Silver IIII love the tourney in Greensboro, but I also understand the other teams feeling it's not fair (remember Gary Williams tirades about the NC schools getting "preferential treatment" by having the tourney in G'Boro?) It's going to Brooklyn the next two years, and that's got to cost a fortune, and this year has got to be tough having it in DC. I can't imagine the hassle those people are going through, and so far there look to be a lot of empty seats, so I wonder how successful it is for the ACC this year. Yesterday's games were spectacular, so fans got their money's worth. I'm sentimental and traditional. I like the nine-team ACC with the tourney in Greensboro, but we have to move forward and take the good with the bad.

Now is the time for Swofford to pressure N.D. -

I pulled my brother's scrapbook out last night (he was a Duke fan) had some clipping and pictures when Dick Groat played at Duke and white tee Bell played at State, got the clipping State wins Six Straight title (southern conference) Frank Selvy played at Furman (once scored a 100 points in a game) he was 10 years older than me, gave it me when he joined the Navy. I had to spell W. Bell name that way, would not let spell it right.

The NCAA tourney is all about guards and Kansas has 3 good ones in Selden, Graham, Mason. Did you guys know that Graham is from Raleigh and from Raleigh Broughton High School? He was in a couple of my daughters classes and she said he is a jokester. LOL. He committed to App. State too early and led his team to the state finals his senior year and the college coaches came calling. So he asked out and Jason Capel the coach at App. State at the time didn't want to release him from his verbal. Long story short he attended prep school for a year and now Kansas.

— Posted by Toddler10-21The N&O had a very good story about Graham. Gotta give his mother a ton of credit - having him at 14, and taking care of him while working and going to school. He walked across the stage with her when she got her diploma! Credit DeVonte as well, because he didn't have an easy life growing up. Hope he has a bright future in the NBA!

— Posted by Maxwell Silver IIIHave fun, Max! This is not my favorite time of year (after Monday, that is). I'll keep an eye on the NFL draft, NBA playoffs (won't watch, but glad to see the Hornets having a good season). Then, I'll be doing the countdown to kickoff! Hope the Panthers have a good year, and I'd love to see them get another crack at the SB, but tough to repeat.
