the FSU game will be a test but noles aren't the team from past years-after that it's Syracuse Pitt wake and S.C. Louisville has Virginia,BC,Wake,Kentucky and Houston with only a loss to Clemson they should have the upper hand on 1 loss teams-Everyone was in love with Houston now its Washington

I don't know. Clemson looked vulnerable against Troy, and came within a missed FG of losing to State. Clemson spanked Louisville. Hope the ACC gets at least one school in the playoffs. Glad Ohio State lost last weekend, and to Penn State of all teams.

do not see Louisville or Clemson losing another game unless FSU trip Clemson up-hopefully Michigan will slip up and put 2 ACC schools in the final 4

yep, in the 4 games batting lead-off, Trea has 5 runs, 6 hits, a walk, an rbi and a stolen base...

heckuva play-off debut for a guy that was only called up for the second half of the season, and was put in as the lead-off slot..

Bautista shouldn't be as arrogant after Odor punched him in his trap and got a slap across the head with Odor's glove. LOL!

I forgot about Trea turner. he played SS with the Pack. he came through the minors very quickly and exploded in the majors. Kid has the total package, average, power, stolen bases, and a heck of a centerfielder. Should be rookie of the year. Dusty has another chance at a close out game.

I been seeing a me first attitude from, the gesters, fashionista, to be face of franchise, you have to a leader and shelved the personal attributes, hoping when he returns he will have an adjustment, this team is missing something, on offense they do not have a leader, on defense I think they are over compensating. A couple of good wins would be the medicine this team needs

  • StunGunn Oct 12, 2016

I would have to pull for the Cubs, but agree about Cleveland fans - very loyal.

Cam isn't a bad guy by any means, but yeah, less fashion shows and more football.

Agree that last year was special and the Panthers may have gotten some lucky bounces. That's why seeing them lose a very winnable SB was maddening. They're underperforming this year, though. Should have beaten the Bucks. Vikings too, considering the key personnel they were missing, 6 days rest compared to the Panther's 10 days, having to travel to Charlotte, etc.

I'm with you. Cleveland supports their teams. Indians/Cavs with titles would be something. Cubs are going to be tough to beat because they are loaded. Jays, don't like Bautista, Dodgers, don't like Puig, and Nationals, not a fan of Harper.

Man I would love to see a Indians/Cubs world series, I believe it would set records for people watching on TV, be great to see Cubs win but would also be great for Cleveland, Cleveland has been the buttttttttt every comedian joke but they support their teams and you gotta be impressed by that. Looking to World series if either of those are in it, do not care about Toronto,LA or Washington, give me CUB/INDIANS

the 15-1 could easily been 11-5 last year, Panthers got lucky on some games, 15-1 was an illusion of the real team, this team has got some good players but also has players that played above themselves, still think this team can come out and make a 10-6/9-7 record with a possibility of making playoff, the local media has over sold this team. Cam Newton is a good QB, was last year an exception or who he is, concentrate on football instead of TV shows, fashion statements at press conferences, local media would use their code words to call me a racist but it is what it is, when he comes back be focused on getting this team back to the playoffs but please continue handing balls to kids let that be your statement

Can't begin to say how disappointed I am in the Panthers, other than Olsen, Kuechly and T Davis. Where is the vaunted D??? Lowly Bucs ran the ball straight up the gut. Missed tackles, missed assignments. Yeah, and Cam in concussion protocol tooling around on a segway. WHO are those guys wearing the Panthers uniforms, because they look NOTHING like the team that went 15-1 last season. Can't all be Norman. Gettleman the tight wad - should have spent some money. What good is all that cap room when the team is losing? Small window of opportunity is closing. T Davis is getting old, Greg Olsen can't do it all, and Stewart needs to be healthy. Cam is paying the price for taking all those hits.

Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers. Cant win like that. Anderson I thought was a reliable veteran back up was very disappointing. Running into your own return man, Bucs kicker missed 3 field goals, Cam has a concussion and he is riding on a Segway/Scooter in Uptown Charlotte. I guess they are still losing on purpose!!! 15-1 and 14 straight was last year. No room for error the rest of the way. Norman, Norman, Norman!!!

Clemson has gotten better each week-Louisville started fast and at steady pace, think both will finish out season undefeated-these two by far are the best in ACC, FSU seems to be improving but still not at the level of FSU football, hey Va tech now plays offense, State UNC, Pitt and Miami seem to be the 2nd tier but 1 or 2 will falter not sure which.

A pitcher like Big country doesn't come along to often. Big Man is a winner especially when it counts most. Clutch hit. I thought the Mets might of had a chance with Bum being pinch hit for, but hey again a clutch hit by Gillaspie. Now the pressure is on the Cubs. They had better win both in Chicago because Bum going in game 3 and if he keeps his pitch count down you will see him again in game 5 coming out of the bullpen. Its the even year its Giants baseball. Heck of a catch by Granderson!!

  • DIAMONDBISHOP Oct 6, 2016

Enjoyed the Giants/Mets game. Big Country did what he normally does in the playoffs, was efficient, had a low pitch count early and managed to hang around, mixed his pitches up very well, established his heater early, had to work a little as the game progressed, threw more off-speed stuff late. Thor was dominating with his upper 90s heater, slider low 90s, and did a great job working away & up in the zone on the Giants hitters, 'pen let 'em down, just couldn't get to Madbum, arguable the greatest playoff pitcher of all-time. Playoffs off to a good start, clutch hit by Gillaspie...typical Giants baseball.

Agree about Julio Jones being double teamed. Surprised McDermott didn't have a better plan. Hope famous Jameis doesn't remember he can play football on Monday night when they play the Panthers. Your Steelers had a good game last week.

Mad Bum pitching against the Mets tonight. He's 4-0 at Citifield - hope his streak is broken tonight.

Sick of seeing Odell as well. Think his teammates are as well. They showed him sitting on the bench being ignored. Josh Norman is getting the last laugh.

He should have been doubled teamed from the start.

Top stories on First Take this morning, Odell/Norman/Odell again/The cowboys/Warriors, but no mention of the wildcard game between the Orioles and the Jays. Great game. Cant wait till tonight , Mets/Giants. ESPN would rather talk about drama queens and the warriors pre season. SMH!!

That would be some team, B! To his credit, Cam said he'd call his father, and his father would tell him he was wrong to slow down going into the end zone, and he deserved what he got. Cam admitted he deserved what he got. Now he needs to take the next step, and clean up his act! Don't taunt, don't showboat. Just play ball. McDermott didn't adjust in that game. Maybe they should have double teamed Julio Jones???

Agree, T - that wasn't a good game for the Steelers. They have a lot of talent, so I wouldn't count them out. Big Ben isn't getting any younger, though, and he looks a bit pudgy.

Yeah - teams love sticking it to Cam. He was very frustrated in that game. Did you see his post game presser outfit? Top hat and a shirt that looked like it belonged in Star Trek. Too funny. Not sure what's going to happen in Atlanta, but the dirty birds are three-point dogs. Hope the Panthers play focused - lose this game and you start to wonder how the rest of the season is going to go. Last year, Atlanta started out hot and then fizzled.

  • Toddler10-21 Sep 29, 2016
    Sports Legend

My Dad and I watched the game. How could Benjamin have I think zero catches? Like I said once before opposing defenses gear up for Cam. I noticed after a couple of sacks they did the superman pose mocking Cam. Now Atlanta. Just when you think they are a good solid team all hell breaks lose. Could that happen Sunday?

Steelers got taken to the woodshed. One sack (one yard loss) in 3 games is not Steeler football. A lot of Steelers fans brag about Ben/AB stats over the last 3 years and I could care less because it hasn't won us anything. Steelers football is physical, pressure, sacks, turnovers etc...

I hear, ya, B. A lot of head scratchers last Sunday. And this week, they face a Falcons team that seems to have figured things out. Not panic time yet, but I don't like what I see from the Panthers so far this season. And as strong as Cam is, he can't continue to take the hits he's been taking. One of these times, he isn't going to get up.

Agree with ya 100%, Gunny. Lots of blame to go around in this one. Olsen was Olsen also - 6 grabs for 64 yards. Don't get how a guy can go for a 100 yards the week before, go for 6.2 ypc (Fozzy), & get 5 carries the following Sunday. This is the sort of thing in pro ball that irritates the krap out of me. If this were MLB, I'd call it your typical, "big league" approach, which is not a compliment. In other words, "we're the professionals, so everything we do is justified, even if it is a huge failure & flies in the face of logic" lol

Sorry as excuse for a football team. All this talent going to waste. This is supposed to be the golden age for the Panthers, but it looks like they're squandering it.

Cam's dumbas forgets that he has a unique ability to escape the pocket and he thinks that the sorry as O-Line is going to hold up for 6-7 seconds. UNBELIEVABLE!

Fozzy runs for 100 yards one week and the next week he gets 3 carries. Top WR doesn't get a single target?

    Terrible QB. Terrible coaching.

It is nice seeing Sam Bradford do his thing, though.

Well said, B. The game started out very good for the Panthers, with Cam completing all his passes. Then the wheels came off when the Vikings D showed up and Bradford did what he had to do to win. Panthers looked disorganized, the safety, 8 sacks on Cam, 3 INT's. Agree Kuechly and Davis showed up, the rest of the team, not so much. Very disheartening when a TD is called back due to a penalty - all that wasted energy. Cam was out of sorts and his O-Line didn't protect him, although he did hold on to the ball too long, but still could have done a better job. They ran Artis Payne and Tolbert into the ground. Need Stewart back, and Benjamin had two penalties and zero receptions. Bad day all around, and I'm sorry, but you can't blame the protests in Charlotte as the reason the Panthers laid an egg.

There was another Bag of Weed sighting in Ann Arbor and Pasadena yesterday, both involving targeting calls. A Penn State player got ejected for targeting and replay clearly showed he was going for the ball, incidental contact. Talk about being clueless in the booth. Over in Pasadena, a Stanford player got knocked silly, there was no call for targeting, replay clearly showed it was, and the booth sustained the officials. Weed should not be allowed in the booth....just my 'pinion.

This was a game the Panthers were supposed to win. The game was in Charlotte, the Vikings were missing key players, and the Panthers were coming off a big win over the 'Niners. The Entertainer had a terrible day with 3 picks, the Panthers O-line gave up 7 or 8 sacks (SMH), and the Panthers offense looked lost. The Panthers seemed flat.....?

Prediction - the media will likely tell us that the recent events in the Queen City had something to do with this. If the Panthers, as a team, lacked focus today due to the recent events in Charlotte, could be a long, sloppy season of football. Had the Panthers been focused as a team, this is a game they win. Bad karma.....?

Luke and TD came to play....the rest, not so much.
