Cam's was caught showboating on one touchdown run this year where he slowed down on the play so he could deliver a blow to the defensive player. Cam needs to grow up and learn how to conduct himself in a press conference when the game does not go his way. Cam is a big baby. He makes millions of dollars a year and still whines and moans when things do not go his way. His melee mouth coach does no better. His coach says we encourage our players to be who they are. His coach should have said, no, we are paying you millions of dollars to be a good representative of our team and we expect you to represent us well and not throw a towel over your head and leave the press conference after three minutes. No wonder the NFL ratings are down this year. After all the protests all the owners could do was to be politically correct and let it go.

Cam didn't slow down "so he could deliver a blow to the defensive player". He essentially ignored the defender until it was too late to really defend himself. Cam admitted it was a mistake he shouldn't make.

"I hope people learn from it because Lord knows I learned from it".
"I don’t look at the defender that hit me in a different type of way. He’s supposed to do that and there’s a lesson learned there".

    Form Image
While we're on the subject. Take a step away from your feelings and look a little closer. Defenders are having to deal with an added level of physicality never seen before when they play Cam. This particular defender nearly tore an ACL because he wanted to prove a point. He had the advantage and delivered a critical blow, yet there he was bouncing off a virtually-defenseless Cam.

Cam is who he is. He easily offends the easily offended. He doesn't fit any traditional mold. Tradition is not bigger than the evolution of the game. As it pertains to Cam; the faults you feel strongly enough to voice your opinions about are of no consequence other than your hurt feelings. Y'all swore he would never be an elite QB, but now he's the reigning league MVP.

A player shouldn't be protected from explicitly illegal cheap-shots, because he likes to express his joy and doesn't like losing?

    Form Image
As you can see, Campbell had a clear path to Cam; nobody touching him.

    Form Image
Less than 2 seconds later, there's Campbell with the illegal low hit.

No flag, but at least Campbell has a conscience.

listening to sirius last night, they talking about the playoff rankings- 1- Alabama 2-Clemson 3- Michigan 4- Washington and with A&M losing they Ohio St next -What the hell does Louisville have to do, their one loss was the N0.2, I know what they are doing is to make sure a big 10 school gets in, if OhiO St beats Michigan their in if Michigan wins they are in. I agree with the top 4 as it stands now, if Washington should lose I think Louisville should be next in!!

After watching yesterday's game, it looks like the NFL thumbed its nose at Cam. There was a helmet to helmet hit on Cam, with the official right there, that wasn't flagged. These hits will have a cumulative effect on Cam's career and health.

things have changed Louisville is probably in now, if Ohio St loses to Mich, Clemson should get back in, the polls and probably seem to be more forgiving to Big 10 as long as its Mich or OSU, right now the 4 best are- Alabama, OSU, Louisville and Michigan and 1 is gonna lose with Clemson at 5 they could be poised to move in, seems as if you are one of the golden teams you inherit advantage

I see the Segway Sensation is whining about the hits he's taking this season. This coming from a guy who is 6' 5", 2-fitty, prides himself on being mobile and physical, likes to initiate contact, taunts opposing defenses, dabs his way around the Queen City, rides his scooter around Charlotte while in concussion protocol, and yet, he thinks opposing D's are being mean to him. Cry me a flipping river!

Don't make this complicated, Brosef! Stop the showboating, act like you've been there before, stop taunting opposing D's, play smart football, and you just might eliminate some of the shots you're taking & extend your career. This really ain't that hard.

Luke - hate to see it. As active as he is, looking at the concussion issues, I'd be surprised if he's still playing when he's 30. Once they start.....

    Panthers - talk about underachieving....SMH
Stewart - going for 3.3 ypc - lousy
The Entertainer - completing 56.5% of his passes, QB rating 80.9 - lousy (4-6 record)

"I see the Segway Sensation is whining about the illegal hits he's taking this season" You missed a very important word.

"...prides himself on being mobile and physical" < not illegal
"likes to initiate contact" < not illegal
"taunts opposing defenses" < he's been guilty 1 time this season. Just as many as Luke.
"dabs his way around the Queen City" < not illegal
"rides his scooter around Charlotte while in concussion protocol" < not illegal
"he thinks opposing D's are being mean to him" < care to show us where Cam said opposing defenses are being mean? Once again, another attempt to legitimize dirty play because someone's style offends you.

Isn't that cute; you giving advice to Cam on how to extend his career. I think Luke could use your expertise. Cam will be dancing around and physically imposing his will on defense's for many more years. A few more successful seasons and he'll have his own unique place in Canton.

B! Agree with most of what you wrote. The only exception is Cam's size as a reason he's not getting some calls. When he leaves the pocket, agree he's fair game ( my words), but some of the hits while still in the pocket should be flagged and fined, no matter how big Cam is. Size shouldn't matter:)

Other than that, agree with you 100%. I wish Cam was as good a QB from the neck up as he is from the neck down.

Very disappointing season. Not all is on Cam - injuries to the O-line have taken a big toll, as well as other key positions. In the words of John Fox, "It is what it is".

It's even cuter watching y'all look the other way 24/7. My advice is likely the same advice he's been given before, especially the smart football stuff. Given the $$$ he makes, I doubt very seriously the Panther's brass wants him taking unnecessary hits. But...that's just an educated guess on my part. After all, last I checked, coaches & owners have this thing about protecting their million $$$$ QBs....see how that works? Easy to understand if ya try, and I do mean easy.

"Cam will be dancing around and physically imposing his will on defense's for many more years."...I'm sure he will and the hits will keep on coming.

Didn't hear the "Slam a Cam", but good one!

Can't remember which ESPN analyst, but just a few weeks ago, he looked at literally hundreds of hits on five QB's and the subsequent calls/no calls. Turns out other QB's are getting hit with no calls as well. Wish I could remember the exact details, but the bottom line was that Cam had one or two illegal hits this season that didn't get flagged, and he's not the only QB in that situation. I heard Big Ben doesn't get some calls because of his size as well. I don't like that aspect of the NFL, but gotta take the bad with the good.

    Thanks! :)

Cam has taken his share of hits, no doubt (the most in the NFL since he arrived). I honestly thought the Panthers were on solid ground as a team, ready to take control of the NFC South for years to come, make a few runs at a SB, but injuries get in the way, players not performing up to expectations, etc. Would like to see the Panthers win a SB and if that's going to happen, I would think it'd be with the unit they have now, with a change here and there. Big Ben is a much better QB than he gets credit for, and yes, given his size, "the big boy factor", likely influences calls, just as it does with Cam. Agree with ya 100%, when they're in the pocket, not in a position to defend themselves, a cheap shot is a cheap shot....has to be called, whether it's Cam, Big Ben, or any other QB.

Luke doesn't need my expertise. He's only the best LB in the game, and most active since his arrival. He gets paid to hit people.Difference is - Luke, as LB, gets paid to hit opposing players on every play which increases the probability of him sustaining a concussion. Cam, as QB, gets paid to put points on the board. For those who understand the game and appreciate the true spirit of competition, this is nothing new. For those who are merely interested in being entertained, I can see where they might not understand the difference. Simply put, the score is what matters most when all is said and done, not who can or can not dance.

I don't disagree with anything you said here.

You still can't convince me that you'd pay attention to a sport if it wasn't entertaining. With all the dancing and posturing that has long been a part of the NFL, it's a wonder how you haven't been so distracted as to miss out on the true spirit of the competition. I'm sure we can all agree that the Panthers would be a lot more competitive this season if they still had that dancing and posturing they let walk to the Washington football team.

No doubt the Panthers' D would be a lot better with that headcase Norman on the roster. I can't stand his attitude, but I can't deny his talent. Washington is a better team with him. People say he would have been a locker room distraction, and they're probably right, but he would have been a positive force on the field. I can't say the Panthers' woes begin and end with the loss of Norman; there's a lot of "blame" to go around. The offense isn't what it was last year, either.

I agree with what you said in a previous post about if the Panthers have another shot at the SB, it would be with this group; the thing is, the small window of opportunity is closing. Thomas Davis is in the twilight of his career, Olsen isn't getting any younger, Kuechly suffered his second concussion in two years, Cam keeps getting hit, and Stewart is often injured. Last year was their best shot IMHO.

Big Ben has taken more hits than QB since he has been in the league and hasn't complained. Granted a lot come from him holding the ball too long. Remember a game against the Ravens when he played with a broken nose and their wasn't a call made. I keep saying Cam is getting these hits because defenses don't like him because of his showboating. Remember the Atlanta game when he was about to go into his routine and he didn't see the defender until it was too late? Just sprint into the end zone and he never would have gotten hit.

Hey T - ESPN did bring up Big Ben and said he didn't calls either, possibly because of his size. I still say size shouldn't matter, but you're right: you don't hear Rothesberger complaining.

Cam's antics may have resulted in other teams disliking him, and maybe engaging in a little "extra-curricular" activities on defense,. To his credit, Cam openly admitted it was his fault when he got flattened in the Atlanta game, and even his father told him as much when they spoke. Hopefully, he learned from that experience, but I think Cam is Cam, and showboating will always be part of his game. I see other players hamming it up at times; it's part of the entertainment aspect of the game.

Hate it for Romo but he did the right thing. Plus, given the shape his back is in, it's best he not be on the field.

Thought Cousins rant at the GM was appropriate given their record on DC Dan's watch. I've watched them make some silly decisions over the years. Hopefully, they're smart enough to keep Kirk around. Gave up on the Braves after too many bad decisions. The 'Skins are next if they don't start getting their act together. No excuse for a team with their resources to be on the bottom.

Didn't like Matt Jones as the starter going back to last season. He hurt 'em earlier in the season as well, glad to see the 'Skins go with Kelley. Kirk spreads the ball around very well - 5 players with 31 or more receptions. Norman could tone it down but he brings a chip to the D, which they needed.

Agree with everything you said. I question what's REALLY going on with the Panthers. Losing Norman has hurt, but it doesn't begin to explain the disastrous season the Panthers are suffering through. It doesn't have anything to do with the problems on the offensive side of the ball, and there are big problems there. I think there's some guys - like Kalil - who played with Jake Dellhome - who probably don't care much for Cam and his antics.

My gut tells me there's something rotten in Charlotte. Cam supposedly has gone sans tie before and wasn't suspended for a series. I think there's something else going on behind the curtain. It's a shame, too. I feel the worst for guys like Thomas Davis and Greg Olsen, Jonathan Stewart, Ryan Kalil, and others. They work so hard and deserve better.
