think the Pack got bad deal with the bowls but now must play where they have to, think they should have gotten the Gator (TS) over Louisville, would like to know what criteria is, who make the decision on who gets first pick After playoff and Orange are settled, VT would have been 3 and State by being ranked in the final poll should be 4, does Sun have 4th choice if so then that needs to changed to about 7 but it is what it is, I won't be able to go that far so I will watch it on the TV.

Saw the first few min. of the State game before switching to the Sooner's title game. Hate to see stuff like that & glad the SC State player is doing better. Thought they might cancel the game but it's my understanding the players voted to play. Hate it for the young man but his playing days are probably over at this point. Never like to see stuff like that. Hats off to the individuals who were on the spot when that happened...saved the young man's life.

Will be interesting to see what bowl the Pack get.
That was some scary scene at the PNC yesterday - glad the South Carolina State player will be OK, but I wonder what underlying condition he has that caused a healthy young man to go into cardiac arrest. -

This would be hilarious...OSU over Wis., UGA gets revenge, Canes bounce back, & 'Bama walks in laughing...again. Crimson Tide to the world, "It's our trophy & don't y'all forget it."
#FIREDRILL......I enjoy watching the ESPN experts scramble when the "pocket collapses" regarding their predictions...lol

Oh yeah, B - hilarious! Can't believe Clemson is now #1. Auburn is in with two losses and 'Bama is out with the one loss. The thing I heard that hurt 'Bama is the SOS. This four team playoff model just doesn't work. Expand to eight and get it right. There will always be teams left out that felt they got hosed, but an eight team model would allow for more deserving teams to go bowling. This could all blow up if the favored teams lose, and it's very possible it could happen.
Know you guys don't watch the NFL, but the Panthers/Jets game was a mess-mess-mess. Panthers played awful, but Captain America bailed them out with his scoop and score. The Jets did get jobbed with that TD being called back. It was a catch. SMH at some of these replay calls.
— Posted by StunGunn
+1.......Ending my "NFL boycott" effective next Panthers game. Sat it out long enough and will support the players who do things the right way going forward. Besides, I don't recall any Panthers taking a knee unless it's been in the last month or so when I wasn't watching. Did see where Luke bailed them out...not surprised as he's always been a gamer along with TD, Olsen, and some others. Hoping the Panthers go all the way.
— Posted by DIAMONDBISHOP
You're picking a tough game to resume watching the Panthers - the Saints are rolling, and I think they'll win the NFC-S. The Panthers better play better than they did at the Jets, or Captain America won't be able to bail them out.
— Posted by StunGunnYep.....The Panthers are 5-1 on the road so it appears they play better away from home. Saints are tough but I think they can get it done if they play well. Nice home stretch following this one...win Sunday & the division is probably theirs.

I think Olsen came back to soon. he went out again with a injury to the same foot. Well Cam was superman again. LOL!
— Posted by Toddler10-21Agree about Olsen coming back too soon. What I find concerning is that it was a non-contact injury when he broke his foot - never a good sign. the x-rays came back negative, but I don't have a good feeling about Olsen's durability for the rest of the season, and Superman needs him!

Proud of the way the Heels played for three quarters in their loss to State. Not claiming a "moral victory", but appreciate how hard they worked in a year ravaged by injuries. Not proud of the extracurricular "activities" by both teams before and during the game. I'm glad football is over for this year for Carolina. Good luck to the Pack and all ACC teams in their bowl games. Looking forward to Saturday's Miami/Clemson game. Picking Clemson in this one. I don't envy the selection committee this year with all teams from Power 5 conferences having a loss, except for Wisconsin. Hope this is an Alabama-free playoff!

Go Duke go lets go bowling at 6-6....
K convinced Bagley to skip his senior year of high school because why? He needed him. He probably went to some prep school anyway and that why it didn't matter. Would have been two losses over the weekend if not for Bagley. Reminds me of Chris Bosh.
State is 8-4 a good record, but those Clemson/Wake losses could have put them in a major bowl. -

Back atcha, Gunny. Always respect your opinion & the opinions of T & Max as well, always will. Not a fan of tripping or anything else that is considered dirty. Personally, I'd rather guys just focus on the game & the W, but I get why some things happen. Only Grayson knows why he did what he did. There are better ways to handle things than tripping. Anyway, hopefully it won't happen going forward. I'd like to think it's water under the bridge at this point. Just play ball.....Heels are looking pretty good.

B - I had to laugh at myself because on the left side of this forum was an article titled "Hating Grayson is a YOU problem". I did read it, and one guy commented that NO it wasn't, it was Grayson's problem and he shouldn't be coddled. Agree with that point of view.
I'd like to think it's over as well. I'd rather concentrate on ball, not antics. Heels did well against Stanford the other night (didn't watch it as it started at 11:30), but good to see Joel Berry had a great game with 29 points after his 1 for 11 outing. Great to have Kenny Williams back after his injury last year. It's early, but Duke is the team to beat, barring any unforeseen injuries. Agree that Duke and their b ball players are hated in part due to their success. I like Coach Cu; K, not so much, and not because of winning, it's because of how he's handled things like the Grayson incident and the way he berates the refs, etc.
— Posted by StunGunn
I've never endorsed player coddling either but it's a part of it. Some coaches have different standards depending on who the player is, which explains some of the coddling. I've seen players get catered to because they were excellent in the b... kissing department. There are other reasons as well. Always respected my coaches unless they gave me a reason not to. Just wasn't into the b... kissing business. Some coaches are OK with that while some aren't, imo.
Heels - Berry is a tremendous player, just needs to get that FG% up a little. Maye has been playing very well (19 pts & 9 boards but needs to get the FT% up), Williams has been off the charts from behind the arc (over 62%).
It's early & I'm sure a couple of those stats will improve for Berry & Maye. ACC gonna be tough as usual. State made a statement against the Cats.
— Posted by DIAMONDBISHOP
Agree, B - the ACC will be tough to beat in b ball, and who saw State beating Arizona last night? Great win for them!
I think one big problem with Gottfried is that he let select players - CJ Leslie, to name one, get away with behavior he wouldn't have tolerated in other players. He played favorites, which may have caused problems in the locker room. Keats is off to a great start.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

JJ wasn't a dirty player. Allen IS a dirty player. Look at the video clips of his trips - he wasn't egged on - he clearly stuck his foot out to trip up the Elon and FSU players. Then there was his epic bench meltdown last year when he got whistled for another trip. I can recognize his talent, but I can't stand his attitude. Yes, he's a four-year player - partly because his rep was so bad, teams might have shied away from him, so he decided to come back. He was all over ESPN for all the wrong reasons. Can't argue that he's the most accomplished player on Duke's roster, but it remains to be seen how he handles himself with very talented teammates, especially if he has a bad game.
JJ was tormented by other teams - grabbing at his jersey, etc. He had attitude, because he was good and knew it. But he wasn't a dirty player.

B Grayson knew what he was doing with his trips. A lot of players take abuse. Wonder why the majority are from Duke? Christan? JJ?, Hurley? Rivers? Also heard that Kevin Love took a lot especially when he played in his home state of Oregon.
— Posted by Toddler10-21Agree that he knew what he was doing. Only Grayson knows why though. The Duke players you mentioned, aside from CL, were unfairly targeted, imo. The following are some of the reasons I believe they get targeted; individual success on the court (breeds contempt), Duke wins often (titles, etc), a racial component, "rich kid" school, University of New Jersey, etc. A number of reasons.....fans seem to love Duke or hate 'em. Interesting thing - while in college, had some teammates from Jersey & I do not recall any of 'em pulling for Duke. In fact, one of 'em is currently a UNC fan.
As far as the booing & insults go, that's the first sign you're doing it right. If you ain't getting booed, you probably ain't doing it right. (Ex....Earnhardt Jr.) Everybody loves him & he never once won a Cup title. One of the nicest drivers you'll ever see, on the track & off. I'm guessing he throws a heck of a party. He shouldn't accept a lesser role. He's been in the program for 4 years and has earned it at this point. Besides, he's a scorer, has won a national title, and it's his team this season. He is by far the most accomplished player on his team at this level. Why would he cater to Fr.? Plus, he's shooting over 50% from behind the arc, which is off the charts. I'm 100% certain a guy like Allen has heard plenty of chirping while on the court. Comes with the territory. Over the weekend, saw a player deliberately make contact with his face, tried to make it look accidental. Just a street move, imo. It's not all Grayson when things go bad. Sometimes, that leads to confrontations, etc....just a part of it. Not saying he's always innocent but it's not always his fault either. I'd take him 24/7 as he brings a lot to the table. Would be interesting to know what has been said or done to him throughout his career. Remember the treatment JJ used to get?

JJ got abused on the road routinely. Fortunately for him, he's about as mentally tough as it gets. Still kept doing his thing 'til the end.
— Posted by DIAMONDBISHOP
I didn't realize the abuse JJ took until I read a piece about it. I used to see scratched on his arms, and apparently some opponents would do whatever they could get away with regarding JJ.
As for Grayson, I respect your opinion - always have and always will. I still don't like him. I'll see how he acts as the year progresses. It's not just a rival thing. I'll never be a Duke fan, but I can respect hard work with good players and a storied program.
— Posted by StunGunnBack atcha, Gunny.

B Grayson knew what he was doing with his trips. A lot of players take abuse. Wonder why the majority are from Duke? Christan? JJ?, Hurley? Rivers? Also heard that Kevin Love took a lot especially when he played in his home state of Oregon.

Exactly, T! I'm waiting for the Brat to get frustrated when he doesn't get the attention the freshmen starters are getting. This is an unbelievably talented class, and I can't see the Brat accepting a lesser role. He won't score 37 points often if ever.
— Posted by StunGunn

Yeah he showed up 15 minutes before his flight was suppose to leave and still thought he was to get special treatment. He was decked out in all Duke blue. He did a lot of cussing that morning. I'm just waiting for Duke to lose or about to lose a game to see how the brat acts? 3 tripping incidents and a team captain, but K does no wrong.....

Harmon #3 had a bad game, he is much better than he showed, glad to see Ramos make a couple of catches, missed catches, fumble in the end zone, all part of football, Hines leaving the game and Louis not playing hurt but that part of the game, game against Clemson had a penalty on the last drive that hurt, penalties on last drive against Wake hurt but it is all part of the game- you regroup and move on!
— Posted by Maxwell Silver IIII know, Max. Seen the Pack play a couple of times but a co-worker of mine (season ticket holder), & avid State fan, said the same thing. Just a bad game & it happens. Very true....whether you play well or not, ya move on. No need to dwell on it.

Saw the youtube video of the trip regarding the FSU player & if I had to guess, probably had to do with the FSU player bumping him as he was walking along. Looked like a "get off me" move to me. Not sure what was going on with the Elon player but he seemed frustrated, maybe over his play or something, looked like a frustration trip. Louisville trip - accidentally tangled up (kidding). Not condoning the trips as it shouldn't happen. Can't have the meltdown taking place either. However, I've seen other stuff that's just as bad, if not worse. Guys throwing elbows while attempting to make it look like they're clearing a rebound, players shooting the ball & acting like they're following through when they're trying to land a slap on another players face, etc. If the trips are the worst thing he ever does, given the number of games he's played, not too bad. I've seen other players attempt to block shots while cracking players over the head/nose, etc
— Posted by DIAMONDBISHOPIt's fairly easy to do certain things while making it look accidental. Sometimes, there are things going on that aren't as obvious to the casual fan watching, whether it's a bump here or there, a comment made, getting in a player's space, etc. The trips shouldn't happen but he has a pretty good body of work on the court & off aside from that. I've seen other players do much worse, imo.

Pack football - saw the game. Stop throwing to #3. If it wasn't going off his pads or off his face mask, it was going through his hands. Need a kicker who can make 'em when it counts.
Memo to receivers - wrap up when approaching the goal line. 2nd & goal beats a fumble 24/7. Just another missed opportunity for the Pack. -

The State/Wake game turned out to be one of those frustrating statistical head scratchers: State had more yards and more TOP, but those two late missed opportunities cost State the game. I didn't realize how good Wake has gotten. Their QB is similar to Finley - both smart, good QB's. Will be interesting to see how State and Carolina react next week when they face off in the last game of the season.

i would say the coach 1 is a recruiter and coach 2 is a coach
— Posted by Maxwell Silver IIII hear ya, Max, but it does require a good coach to have success with a lot of talent on the roster. I can't deny that K is a good coach , even though he has very talented teams. More is expected of high profile coaches, who are usually the ones that recruit more talent.
On a side note: Duke is taking it to GT. Didn't see that coming. -

One game. That was funny. I remember how Capel looked at Allen when he was acting like a big baby when he got caught tripping in that Elon game.
— Posted by Toddler10-21K showed his true colors in that one game suspension. He's no better or honest than any coach. Win at any cost. Didn't exactly use a "teachable moment" for the brat Allen. T - didn't you see or have a buddy who saw him have a meltdown at the airport right after a major tripping incident? He was like, "Do you know who I am???" when he wasn't allowed to get on the flight he was late for.
