What a game! Cam Newton completed 20 of 31 for 242 & 4 TDs, Greg Olsen had 9 grabs for 116 yards and one TD, and Christian McCaffrey had a great game as well. Keep giving it to the rookie...Panthers had the ball for 34 mins., 0 TOs....nice.

Cardiac Cats! Great pic, Mitt. Thought the Panthers had the game won, then the late TD and onside kick recovered by Green Bay. Glad Carolina won.
Steelers were ROBBED. That was a catch and TD. -

Had he done that & failed, they would have run him out of Seattle. As much as he should have done that, as a player, he probably did the right thing. No guarantees.

Agree, B. You know RW is smart enough to realize the best play would have been to hand it to Beast Mode. I heard that PC didn't want Lynch to get MVP as well. Bet he'd like to have that decision back!
— Posted by StunGunn
I wouldn't want Lynch to get MVP either. He's a cancer, imo. RW doesn't make too many mistakes so they probably figured he'd get it done in that situation. It happens. I still think the defender baited him a little on the play. Lynch ain't exactly a media darling.
— Posted by DIAMONDBISHOP
You mean Mr. "I'm just here so I don't get fined." isn't loved by one and all in the media? lol From what I've seen, Lynch doesn't seem to be doing all that great since he un-retired. Maybe he ate one too many Skittles.
— Posted by StunGunnSkittles...used to eat them before games...lol
"Beast Mode" has averaged under 4 ypc 4 times in his career, including this season. Nothing to write home about. His Seattle days are behind him. Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, E Smith...he is not. -

It was first and goal from the one with 2 timeouts left and I think about 40 seconds left. If you run it and gets stopped, then you can open up the playbook, but I couldn't see him being stopped because it hadn't happened all game.
No I wasn't a diva, but I did let my QB know that I was open. LOL

Pete Carroll, or his OC, made that head scratcher of a call. Beast Mode at the goal line, and you tell RW to THROW the ball???? Felt bad for him. He did as he was told, and it cost them the game.
Agree that wide outs are "always open" and want the ball. It's in their DNA.

RW should have changed the play point blank. QB's do it all the time and I'm sure Russ has also. From what I have heard Carroll didn't want Lynch to be the MVP because of the way he handles the media. Like I said that team hasn't been the same. Cam would have gotten crucified if he had thrown that pick, but know Cam he would have ran it in himself. LOL!

if that is the problem why is Cam Newton still there-Smitty had a chip but he was always ready to play and would let stuff just roll off his back. I liked Smitty when they got rid of him I was through with them. There is a problem somewhere in the organization.
— Posted by Maxwell Silver III
They have made Cam the face of their Organization. Easier to replace a wide out or running back. A QB? Not so much. Cam has unbelievable physical skills, but he doesn't have the smarts necessary to be a great QB. I'd take Russell Wilson over Cam in a heartbeat, even though Cam has the size that Wilson doesn't have. RW is also a better teammate. I think we've seen the best of Cam. They have to let him run in order to have any offense, and then he gets abused. Tough position to be in.
— Posted by StunGunnHave there not been more questions about RW's reputation with his teammates than that of Cam's?
And if he's so smart and such an incredible leader, then why didn't he hand the ball to Marshawn? -

Ask Coach to name one WR who didn't complain about getting the ball? LOL. All of them think they are open and interfered with on every play. You're right. Cam has to run, but how long will that last before he gets injured. Stewart fumbled twice Sunday and coach still kept him in. MCcaffery is too small. Good for catching balls out of the backfield.

Glad the Cats won their first game sans Benjamin. Heard he didn't dress for his first game for Buffalo. Also glad the Panthers already played the Bills - wouldn't want to see them face Benjamin with revenge on his mind.
I still think this move is a head scratcher. Why trade him now?
— Posted by StunGunn
Probably stuff going on that's not being shared for all to see...just a guess.
— Posted by DIAMONDBISHOPThink you must be right, B. Looking back, the Panthers gave Smitty the boot, and he had tons of talent, as well as attitude. Then last year, they got rid of Josh Norman, another talent with 'tude. Miss their talent, but good to see the Panthers Organization doesn't tolerate that garbage.

I think the panthers beat the Bills early this season 13-9? it will be awhile before they play again. I didn't realize during Cam's MVP season Benjamin was out the entire season, but they did have Olsen.
— Posted by Toddler10-21I think you're right about the Panthers already playing the Bills, T. Glad that game is behind them. Was listening to Steve Logan yesterday. He never liked Benjamin. Said he was a "Diva Receiver", and would get mad if he didn't get enough balls thrown his way. Maybe he had a attitude, but he was good, and the Panthers need all the offense they can get. The Panthers did go to the Super Bowl the year Benjamin was out with a torn ACL, but like you said, they had Olsen then. Still a head scratcher to me. Vegas didn't even have a line on the odds of this trade because no one saw it coming.

Didn't watch the game, but the Bills bombed against the "mighty" Jets. The Panthers play the Bills some seasons, I hope this isn't one of them. Guarantee if they do, Benjamin has a career day, just like Smitty did when they gave him the boot and he ended up playing for the Ravens. This trade makes no sense. None. Supposedly Cam isn't happy about it.

No, no and NOOOOO! I thought it was a Halloween joke when I heard it this afternoon. Stoooopid decision IMHO. The Panthers' offense is anemic, and they trade away a productive wide-out for - wait for it - a third round pick and a SEVEN round pick?????
Makes me wonder if something was rotten in the locker room. I liked Benjamin. He has great size and with a struggling offense, it makes NO sense to trade him away. Hurney is at the helm, but this smells like a Gettleman move to me. Not a happy camper tonight!
— Posted by StunGunnCould be something they're not sharing. Otherwise, not sure why they would do that at this point in the season.

Steve Logan ask Mick Mixon about it, Mixon like the Panther organazation, just blew it off as no big deal, been a lot of players in the past that have been like that, worst was Ryan Leaf, all that talent and let his emotions ruin him. He is not nearly that bad but must get this handled, there are media members out there that will try to get him blow up but he needs to get under control.

So Cam is making more friends in the media by coming into the presser PO'd, in a mood, and not wanting to answer any question, other than with an eye roll. C'Mon, Cam - you need to grow up. It doesn't matter if more than half of the questions asked by the media are rhetorical, just answer them!
