What about Dante Jones and the stomp against UK. I'm sure you remember or was it an accident?

I'm confused by what this means. Was Bobby Hurly a "K type player"? How about Jay Williams? Shane Battier? Surely he's a "K type player".
Quinn Cook? Jon Scheyer? Elton Brand?
Ooh, I know!
Carlos Boozer. He's gotta be one of those type of players. -

You will never get a Duke fan to admit K was ever out coached. The so called talent they have and losing against a team with no where near the talent you have is called being out coached. Reminds me of the USC game last year in the tourney when K said USC were playing in there home state, but he wasn't making any excuses. He made the same statement again about the UVA ( also the USC game) saying his kids have never played in a game like this before. Don't recruit the one and done's K.
Gunny I talked to Charlotte Smith yesterday and she also says that UNC isn't getting the talent they are use to getting. Why I asked ? She says she doesn't know. UNC's big's are terrible. Oh yeah I didn't know she was HC at Elon..
— Posted by Toddler10-21Interesting stuff, T! Every year Carolina is over rated in pre season. Can't stand to hear analysts drooling over Bagley and others. The N&O had an interesting piece about Grayson Allen. He admitted he stuck his him out so the UVA player would make contact. Can't stand his rear end. Just shows he hasn't changed. Punk.
The Heels have Maye, Berry, Pinson, need more consistent play from Johnson and others. -

people like Lunadi and a couple of others-get paid just give us their opinions-they are billed as so called experts-I watch a replay of the State/ Duke game and Bilas was just gushing about Duke's frosh. Duke entire starting line up were on all 3 team- of the all conference teams, if they are that good how do they ever lose -poor coaching!!! Virginia had 1 player on 4th team, I noticed Bilas commentary is full of cliche's and trying impress us with how bright he is (ESPN's David Glenn) I'm out

the talking heads make a prediction about the tourney at day 1 and adjust it as weeks pass, to look at their prediction at day 1 and the final one -its night and day and still miss it, just like football man they blew that one last year-no one saw Georgia last year and Clemson was not suppose to win the ACC-their opinions are no better than ours, we just keep ours to ourselves.
— Posted by Maxwell Silver IIII just wonder why they make some of the predictions. It seems the objective is to stir the pot. We make predictions here, but they seem much more reasonable. At least to me, anyway, lol.

State has beaten Duke/UNC in the same season 3 times in the last 10 years. Didn't realize that.
— Posted by Toddler10-21Three times in the last ten years - wow! Didn't realize that either! Another disappointing showing last night for the Heels. They can't win games when their opponent hits eight threes in the first ten minutes, and when they have one or two players show up. Last night it was Johnson who was hot.

I don't think any team is intimidated by either Carolina or Duke this year, as both have been beaten on their home courts. I do't remember the last time State beat Duke and Carolina in the same season, but it has happened. Seth Greenberg said his Hokies did it once.
What I don't get is some of the talking heads saying State "wasn't a tournament team" so early in the season. I mean, do they make such predicitons to stir the pot??
When BC beat Duke and Wofford beat Carolina, it gives other teams the confidence that they, too, can beat the so-called blue bloods of college hoops. -

glad to see Freeman (A) have a great game, he has struggled this year, maybe this will break him out of it, saw a big jump in Markell Johnson's game. He throttled Joel Berry, if Maye and Pinson had not had career games it could have been a wider margin. I saw big jumps in several players, if Abu and L Freeman come around this could be a strong team down the stretch.

When was the last time State beat Duke and UNC in the same season? Wow who would have ever thought State would have more talent that UNC on the court? UVA beat Duke in Cameron. Watched Purdue Sunday, they remind me of UNC the last 2 years, size and a'lot of upperclassmen.

I think Keatts is shaping this group into a fine basketball team-hopefully this is just the start of things to come, this is the first time I thought State may have had the better talent on the floor since Richard Howell, Lo Brown TJ and that group-hopefully KK keeps it going, he is young and do not think he is intimidated by K or Roy

Well, that loss hurt! I figured it would be a close game, but ouch! It was a heck of a game, and the second best I've seen this season (the other one was the FSU/Duke game). The Carolina/State game had a lot of ties and lead changes. It was a good game with the tempo I like to see, too bad the Heels came up short. The thing I liked (certainly NOT the final score!) was that it was a clean game - no cheap shots. The players on both teams played their tails off, and there wasn't any chippyness to it, no grudge match plays - just good ball. Missing free throws and not defending the three doomed the Heels, especially the three with Freeman having a career day behind the arc.

I can remember when he didn't have anything to do with the one and done's. One and done's never gave a second thought about attending Duke and now he gets them all. Man it would nice for a few violations to come out of this. Gunny that kid had to be his son. Bagley had another year of high school. Take him off the current Duke team and you have maybe a top 25 team instead of top 5. SMH!!
— Posted by Toddler10-21Exactly, T! Bagley reclassifies and leaves HS early just to go to Duke. And next year K has three top-10 recruits, probably one and dones as well. I used to know all the players, and now it's a good thing they have their names on the back of their jerseys. Duke is a private institution, so they don't have to make public the same information that State and Carolina do.

I didn't watch the State/Duke game either. I was helping my daughter, and in the past State has always given Duke a real test, and won some, but this is the year I thought State didn't have the horses to beat Duke. Wish I watched the game now, although I did record it.

Don't listen to State's radio play by play much anymore but Gary Hahn is about as vanilla as it gets and Tony just talks too much. when not watching the game will listen just to get score updates.

That FSU/Duke game was a heck of a game! So many ties and lead changes. FSU is FOR REAL. They weren't intimidated at all by the atmosphere in Cameron. The Heels are in trouble Wednesday when they head down to Tallahassee to face the Seminoles. Both the Carolina/Wake game and the State/Clemson game paled in comparison to the excitement and level of play in the Duke/FSU game. That was a fun game to watch.
— Posted by StunGunnAgree with ya about FSU. Heels will be in for a battle in Tallahassee. Gonna be hard for UNC & Duke to beat them down there. In fact, I'd be surprised if that happens. FSU looks to be that good. Cofer & Angola can shoot. Noles look good.

RE: the recent string of games.
BC was amazing when they played Duke. When Duke went on that last run, I figured that was it...they had come back, AGAIN, to win. WRONG! Those boys can shoot! My goodness!
Hopefully Duke can come back and play like I know they can. Bagley and Carter are both really good...but Bagley...sheesh that guy is good!! If Duke plans to make a deep run they have got to fix their defensive woes...it seems they can lock down, but only for short periods of time. They have got to figure out how to play defense better down the stretch.
Good win yesterday by UNC over TN. It was close, but somewhat expected after not playing for a while. It will be interesting to see how Duke rebounds...

I won't like: I didn't shed any tears when BC - of all teams - beat Duke. Bowen, Robinson, and Chatman can ball! I watched that game only because there was nothing else on. I thought Duke would slaughter BC. If BC plays like that, they'll beat a lot of teams, Carolina included. Speaking of the Heels, they played poorly in the first half, and when they start a game like that, they usually lose. They don't seem to play well after a break, and playing in a hostile environment, against a Rick Barnes coached team looked like a recipe for disaster. Credit the maturity of Berry and toughness of Luke Maye, and the 3-point shooting of Williams.
So glad you found us over here. Everyone is great - Bishop, Toddler, Max - you'll really enjoy their posts.
— Posted by StunGunnI saw a good portion of the Carolina/UT game. Tough game on the road but UNC did what good teams do. They came back & won it at the end, escaped with a W. I took a swipe at BC earlier but they've shown what they're capable of at this point. Question is.....can they get in the zone mentally each night out for the remainder of the season? Easy to get jacked up at home for the Devils, Heels, etc., but they have to do that consistently throughout. Hey, looks like they have some talent though (9-3, 1-0). Should be a fun season. Canes & Noles are playing well but it's early. Once conference play starts, the contenders will separate themselves from the rest.

Not sure about hockey players but baseball players are very superstitious. Other examples as follows;
Jumping over the line when running on & off the field (some players won't step on the line as they consider it bad luck), didn't use batting gloves so before every plate appearance I would grab a handful of dirt & rub it on the bat handle (hated batting gloves for some reason), walking around the umpire while approaching the batter's box versus crossing the plate, same number of dry swings before an AB, same batting helmet every AB, not letting bats get crossed (bad luck), etc....lol.... wacky stuff.
