Max - I'm not a Rodgers fan either. I remember the game in Charlotte several years ago where he was intercepted. He sat on the bench, watching the play on a Microsoft tablet, and he threw it to the ground in frustration. Way to set an example, Aaron....NOT. I do have to give him credit for having an MVP season without a ton of talent around him. He took his grudge and made turned it into getting the MVP. Lack of communication between the front office and Rodgers has been a problem. He is a HOF QB and he does deserve respect from GB. He didn't get it.

All players are becoming primary donnas, got no problem w/ GB drafting a QB, Rodgers got 2 years left at best, I heard someone, when Rodgers was coming up, Favre didn't help guide him, also heard Rodgers was arrogant about it, being honest I don't like Rodgers, if they drafted a QB, is he a afraid, just compete, message to players your is to play, just do it and let GM's run the office if they screw up, they'll get fired.

  • StunGunn May 4, 2021

Agree with both you guys about GB and their Prima Donna QBs. Favre didn't do anything to help develop Rodgers. At all. He retired then unretired. I'm not a Rodgers fan, but I don't blame him for being bitter about GB picking a QB in the first round last year instead of drafting someone to help him. All he did with his grudge is win MVP last year. Good for him. I think he may end up in Denver. Hate to see one of the few players who had their entire career with one team end it with another. Brady was fortunate to win another SB in his first year with a different team.

GB picking a QB in the first round when Rogers clearly not close to being done yet. Can you say MVP and NFC Champ game. Like he said pick a player that can help now in the first round, but instead pick one that's going to sit 3 or 4 years. Speaking of Primi Donna, Brett Farve..

Rodgers has always been a Primi Donna, if they get rid of him, I hope they start winning again. Tickle me to see Rodgers end up w/ Jets.

Well, T, the Panthers selected a CB with the number 8 pick. SMH. And they picked up the 5th year option on Darnold. What are they smoking in Charlotte.

Rodgers wants out of GB. Read Denver is on the short list. Not a fan of Rodgers, but have to admit GB **** the bed with how they handled the situation.

Spot on Gunny. Plus CMC isn't a big guy and Cam was huge. Those hits will take its toll. OL is the most important part of any football team after the QB. Ask Mahomes....

T - totally agree about K. A friend of mine said he'd probably retire soon because he hung around just to annoy Roy lol.

Panthers need to upgrade their O-Line. There's a reason Cam got abused when he played to the Panthers. They ran him into the ground. They're doing the same with CMC. Not hard to defend when they get the ball to the same guy every play.

I really think Darnold would be better in Charlotte. Lets face it. he had nothing to work with in New York. OL, WR's, RB. For example there was a reason why Bell didn't workout. Steelers had 3 pro bowlers on the OL and the Jests OL were ranked last? Now the Jets will drafy a new QB. Lets see how that will workout behind that OL. Panthers OL are average and you still have a healthy Mcaffrey coming back. As for K been tired of him.

  • StunGunn Apr 27, 2021

T - K will probably pay them more than the new league - lol. We'll see how he does with his one and dones this time. Hasn't worked out too well for him lately.

Panthers picking up Sam Darnold. Sam Darnold??? Jets were only too happy to unload him.
Panthers have the 8th pick. Could have gotten a decent QB with that pick, but who knows what they'll do - probably not get a QB. So now they have Darnold and Teddy two gloves. Good luck with that.

Yeah, T, K is just reloading his roster with five stars. Hard to say they have a "Brotherhood" when they barely get to know each other. Heard there is some sort of Professional School League starting up - I think there's eight teams. They already have games scheduled for TV. I'm fine with that. Go there, go to the NBA, G League, anything but the one and dones.

Absolutely agree that if a player is injured while playing for a school, that school should honor their scholarship.

I think the lure of $$$ is tough to turn down for players, especially if they're trying to support their family.

  • Maxwell Silver III Apr 17, 2021

If a player decides to go to college and he gets injured, I think the university should honor a full ride if has intended to stay. If a player leaves college and is injured during tryouts or before he is drafted, he is screwed, no degree, no career, I wish players would look at the value of college degree.

I had read about Kendall not being retained. Who knows may have been something personal.
That former player is probably right. Don't think a black mother or grandmother won't ask him about that on a recruiting trip. I know a lot of women that are offended.

Agree. Stop making these kids go to college........

Max - I totally agree - let them go straight to the pros if that's what they want. Baseball lets them. Let them play in Europe or the G league or other options. This one and done and now the transfer portal are making a mess of things. I don't envy coaches trying to figure out a roster and scholarships. Also agree about a degree. What happens when the ball stops bouncing. Guys are smart to get their degree, but I do understand their dilemma if they have the potential to earn $$$. Tough decision.

Well, T, you were right about Kendall. You must have seen something I didn't because you predicted he wouldn't be on the staff. That's a shame. Coach Rob too! He was with Roy in Kansas, came with Roy to Chapel Hill - isn't that "in the family" enough for you, Hubert. I'd think he'd want as much continuity as possible with all the other changes going on.

Yeah, T, a lot of people questioned why Hubert had to say that about his wife. I guess he'll learn what to say and what not to say in a presser, but what was his thought process? A former player (unnamed) supposedly said, "there goes his recruiting" after that comment. Hope not.

  • Maxwell Silver III Apr 15, 2021

a HS player should be able to make a decision out of HS, if good enough declare for the draft, let NFL, NBA, MLB allow this, if he would rather play college and further his or her education let them sign a four year scholarship, if they decide to leave prior completing, then pay back the University the balance, they would have decide if the options weigh out in their favor. If a player uses their likeness for a monetary purpose, he pays a percentage back to the university- using Power school name will enhance their potential. A high percentage of youngsters out of HS school will never play pro ball but that degree will serve them for the rest of their life, how many stories have you heard of penniless former athletes its sad, some athletes are not prepared for a college curriculum, use the first year to prepare them for college. Instead of worrying about stuffing their pockets with cash that will soon gone, educate them so as a guidance thru life.

T - Why do you think Kendall won't be on the staff? He played for Roy. He's young and I'd think the players would relate to him. I always liked him. Read that Hubert asked King Rice to join the staff and he declined. Also read that Kessler is going to Auburn. Auburn??? Who would want to play for a lying cheating coach like Bruce Pearl over a guy like Hubert Davis? Hope Davis can get some good transfers - heard he got one from UVA. Man, I HATE this transfer portal BS.

T - I hope the Zags do get to cut down the nets, and I also hope Kessler isn't on the roster when they do. Not that I hold a grudge - lol.

Watched Hubert Davis' presser yesterday. What a terrific guy! He was so humble and sincere, and I like that he was emotional. Fans need to be patient, because with the transfer portal, graduation, and declaring for the NBA, he isn't going to have a lot to work with. Bacot is testing the NBA waters, so there's one less talented player for Davis. He seems to have the support of everyone, so that's a big plus. He knows the system, the players (whoever stays, anyway), the staff. I hope he doesn't make too many changes. Sean May is so smart and dedicated, and I like Kendall Marshal. They fit the criteria of playing for either Dean, Gut, or Roy, so I hope he keeps them.

Not happy the Panthers traded for Sam Darnold.

i think the problem with Gonzaga is their conference and there is nothing they can do about it. I was just waiting for them to play in a close game, because most of their games are over before the half and it took a mid court shot to beat UCLA who was a #11 seed. With that said they will probably be a number one seed again next year. One of these years they will probably win one.

  • ACC4ME Apr 6, 2021
    Towel Boy

Well, T, I would have lost that bet with you as well. I didn't take the Zags seriously until I saw them dismantle Creighton and USC. They played smart and selflessly. I thought they were the real deal..
Then they seemed out of sorts in the UCLA game. Then the wheels came off in the Baylor game. I agree Max - I really wanted the Zags to win. They seem like good guys, with a great Coach, and what a story with their undefeated season.

If UNC had to stay "in the Carolina family", Hubert Davis is by far the best choice. I think he'll relate to the players really well (he already has), he knows the system, he's recruited, and he LOVES Carolina. I hope Coach Rob stays. I also hope guys like Bacot stay. This transfer portal is a terrible idea. I hope Kessler regrets leaving (I doubt it if he ends up with the Zags), but I hope he rides the pine.

I wish Hubert Davis all the luck!

Much respect for Roy Williams. Good luck Coach Davis. Looking forward to see who he hires on his staff. Roy felt like he wasn't the man for the job anymore. That's hard to say. Dude in Durham will never say that. If you're trying to build a program don't recruit the ones that don't want to go to college. Is it that hard?
Well I won a bet with my father. He said he can't see a team beating Gonzaga along with the experts. I didn't watch because of my work schedule, but just curious on how many kisses did Timmy blow to the crowd last night?

There have been times recently where I thought the game may have passed Roy by. But as recently as 2019, Carolina was a one seed and swept Duke. The last two years have been a struggle. I still feel really bad and it won't be the same watching another Coach run out of the tunnel, and who knows what the roster will look like. The Zags are a fun team to watch. I've seen teams challenge them for a while, but it's kinda like the Zags are playing with their food. Timmy can get in foul trouble, but they have other weapons. I hope they do win it all. Mark Few is a good coach who has been so close but never won it all.

So far the transfer portal has a lot of traffic. Surprised Kessler is leaving because he would have gotten a lot more playing time next year. Sterling Manley in the portal - good luck with that - he's been injured more than he's played. I would think Bacot is gone, but hope he stays. I'm not a fan of the transfer portal. Players should be paid for their image and likeness.

Max - Gott always seemed to have a favorite player and would do anything to make him happy, sometimes at the expense of other players. Keats is a MUCH better, more fair coach, and he relates really well to the players. If a player has a shot at the NBA, I don't see them coming back, but if not, who knows - some may choose to return. I think DaRon Sharpe is going for his shot at the NBA - he looks like he could contribute right away. The Heels will lose some to graduation. I hope Bacot returns, but he's had a good year, so he may be out the door.

  • Maxwell Silver III Mar 18, 2021

I liked the KK is approaching things, he mainly tries to recruit solid in state talent, he will offer outside if its a good situation. I have noticed that he will offer a 5-star but will promise him the farm just to get him to sign, Gott did Cat Barber wrong when he smoozed Dennis Smith for a 1 year ride, Cat saw the light and left a year earlier, I always said that team would have been better with Cat as a senior leader- Smith was promised a starting job-- just my thoughts, if DD, DJ and BB could back for their final year, Pack has 3 promising freshmen on the roster and 3 more coming in.

So an earthquake nobody felt can make you miss a FT on a technical foul when you're standing on the FT line all alone? Too funny, but glad the Lakers beat the Warriors. Tired of Golden State. Draymond Greene never met a technical he didn't earn.

Still won't bet a penny on Gonzaga event hough they have 3 top ten picks. Weak conference everyear. How did that workout with Zion/Reddish/Barrett?

Soooo Happy for Patrick Ewing. Man was an assistant in the NBA for 15 years and couldn't get a head coaching job. Not even from his buddy Michael Jordan. Caught you know what when hired at Georgetown. Security in Madison Square Garden act like they didn't know who he was. Yeah, T, K doesn't want to lower himself and play in the NIT. Of all years, NIT is more important than ever - should have kept it at 32 teams. State should do well as a 3 seed. Glad to see Lady Pack get the 1 seed. Crazy talk had them as a potential 2. When you're 3rd in the nation, you are a 1 seed!

Carolina would have been better off as a 7 (where Lunardi had them) or even a 10. If they beat the Badgers, they have #1 Baylor. I'm happy they're even in the Tourney. Gotta play the team you're matched up against.

I hope Virginia is healthy enough to play. The players all went through so much, hate to see them miss out on post season play.

I don't see any ACC team in the FF.

Let the games begin and good luck to all.
