    Sanderson defeated Green Hope by a 3-0 score last night. They will face TC Roberson at 8 pm Saturday night for the State Championship in 4A.

    Sanderson plays at Green Hope Tuesday night at 6PM. Winner plays for the 4A state championship representing the east. Sanderson has made the state playoffs 35 times, this is more that any HS in NC. 11 State championships, in addition they have two ties in championship matches. NCHSAA did not allow OT for first three years of soccer as varsity sport. They tied Page 1-1 twice in championships. After those ties Sanderson went on to win 103 matches in a row, which is still the public HS record. Bob Catapano the coach for 25-30 years retired with a winning percentage of 94.5%. The field at Sanderson is named for him.
