App State, South Carolina latest to offer North Johnston's Traquin Watson

A 6-foot-3 linebacker/athlete at North Johnston High School is up to three offers after Appalachian State University and the University of South Carolina's football programs offered him on Monday.

Traquin Watson shared the news of the verbal offers to his X account. Back in August, he received an offer from Texas Tech University.

Watson is listed at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds.

The class of 2025 prospect was credited with 26 total tackles, nine tackles for a loss, seven sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble in the 2023 season. In his career, he has 109 total tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, and 10 sacks. On offense, Watson has put up 723 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns in his career.

North Johnston finished the 2023 season with a 4-7 overall record after falling to Northeastern in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 2A East playoffs.

The Panthers are currently looking for a new head coach after the retirement of Michael Barnett.
