Midway's Morgan and McKenzie Williams love being twins.

"Having like a partner with you all the time," Morgan said.

"Just having that built-in best friend, because twins have a connection like no other siblings have," McKenzie added.

Just remember, each is their own person.

"People not being able to tell us apart, it gets quite frustrating sometimes," McKenzie said.

"So at times, you feel a little bit less than the other one, then at times you feel better than the other one," Morgan added.

They do everything they can to help each other and their classmates be the best versions of themselves.

"They're great leaders, positive role models. They're in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing, always," Midway Athletics Director Aaron Lane said.

That's in the classroom as Future Farmers of America officers.

"They're full of desire, they're eager, they want to be successful, they care about others. They want others to do as well as they do," Agriculture teacher Scott Jolly said.

Or in athletics, in volleyball, basketball and softball in the spring for McKenzie.

They're accountable and they're humble. It's a good combination," volleyball and softball coach Susan Clark said.

And when times are tough, they're there for each other. Morgan was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, which impacts the lining of the digestive tract, in February.

"Your body doesn't absorb anything you're eating, so I lost about 30 pounds in three or four months," Morgan Williams said.

"I told myself one day, I can either lay in the bed and feel sorry for myself or I can do something about it."

Now months later, McKenzie has similar symptoms and is being tested for Crohn's disease as well.

"Well she's able to give me tips because she knows what I'm going through and I was able to help her, just kind of be there, a shoulder for her to cry on, lean on, whatever and she's doing the same thing for me," McKenzie Williams said.

Holding each other up, helping each other out, and that's why McKenzie and Morgan Williams are this week's winners of the Tom Suiter Extra Effort Award.
