No. 6 ranked Wakefield softball continued to roll with another five-inning win in conference play. A 12-0 victory at Heritage on Thursday was the Wolverines' eighth in a row.

Wakefield has won their last six by a combined total of 69-2.

Brooke Masingale, Kensley Harrison, and Maddy Lampman all homered, and the trio combined for eight runs batted in.

Lampman got the offense going with a run-scoring single that plated Harrison in the top of the first.

Masingale and Brianna Riehle had consecutive RBI singles in the second to push the lead to 3-0.

The Wakefield advantage inflated to double figures with a seven-run third inning.

Brenna Colleran mashed a single off of the top of the wall in left to bring home Noa Grunow. Colleran and Lauren McDonald came around on a Madison Uhrig double that put the Wolverines up six. Masingale unloaded on a pitch and drove it deep over the wall in center, and two batters later, Harrison did the same.

Lampman touched them all in the fifth with a long two-run home run. The sophomore finished 2-for-4 with three runs batted in. Masingale had a 3-for-4 afternoon with four RBI.

Aniela Piscorik went the distance in the circle and allowed no runs on five hits and one walk, she also struck out three.

Heritage's Emily Claudio went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Huskies.

Wakefield hosts Knightdale on Tuesday, travels to the defending state champions at Apex on Wednesday, and hits the road for Rolesville on Friday.

Heritage is at Rolesville and Millbrook next week with a Wednesday home game against Union Pines sandwiched in-between.
